The College Hotel is located in a nineteenth-century building on Roelof Hartstraat in Amsterdam’s Oud-Zuid, also known as the Fashion & Museum District. Originally, in 1894, the building served as a school for higher education and has over the years been utilized by various educational institutions for studies ranging from ICT to economics and administration.
The building has also undergone several renovations to benefit educational purposes. In 1902, 1907, and 1987, it was expanded with additional spaces that functioned as an extra classroom, a separate gymnasium, and even a lounge for the concierge.
In 2002, the building was registered as a listed building, and the most recent renovation took place around 2024. Since then, the building has been used as a hotel. Despite all these changes, the connection with education remains. Students from recognized vocational courses such as International Hotel & Hospitality Management have the opportunity to gain experience at this boutique hotel in Oud-Zuid.
